Room to Read is celebrating 20 years of bringing quality education and literacy to children in low income countries. Room to Read has educated nearly 20 million children and distributed 20 million books in local languages to children in Asia and Africa. www.literacycloud.org
The NJ Chapter is celebrating 10 years as part of the global chapter network supporting Room to Read programs. We are establishing a core volunteer base to expand and enhance our impact to help Room to Read reach the goal of educating 20 million more children by 2025. We are looking for experienced social media content creators and influencers to grow followers organically.
Room to Read was established by a social entrepreneur with bold goals of transforming the world through education. Description
We envision a world in which all children can pursue a quality education, reach their full potential and contribute to their community and the world.
To achieve this goal, we focus on two areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact: literacy and gender equality in education. We work in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the life skills they’ll need to succeed in school and beyond.
The New Jersey Chapter of Room to Read is run by dedicated volunteers who believe in literacy and education.
