Position description: Looking for a passionate, motivated volunteer with experience in STEM, to support educating students on the opportunities in STEM through (virtual) classroom visits!

This position includes virtually coming into classrooms and teaching students about your career path via fun, hands-on, interactive activities. A few curricula have been developed for different career paths. While in quarantine, this role will focus on executing the established curriculum
in a local Los Angeles School during ~1 hour visit.

This is a great way to give back to the community while growing and exercising skills in education and communication!

I look forward to discussing the details of this exciting, hands-on role with interested volunteers!

A little about S.Y.STEM Coalition:

We started 6 years ago in Tucson, AZ. 6 exceptionally talented and motivated people who wanted to give back to the community by helping k-12 students find a passion for STEM. We saw all of the poverty in our city and realized if just one of those kids from that community was able to get a great paying job in STEM, they could not only help themselves but also help their whole family break the cycle of poverty! Now the organization has over 100 volunteers, chapters in 4 different cities and growing! More than anything, being a part of this amazing organization has showed me that you really CAN change the world, one step at a time! Come join us in bringing this incredible organization to Los Angeles!!
