ORGANIZATION: Friends of Rescue Animals

The FRAs Center is the "home-base" for administrative, foster program, and adoption event work. Additionally, the Center has become a Pet Food Pantry and Pet Thrift Store that is open for the community.

Responsibilities: Maintain inventory database of supplies. Assist in the preparation of care packages for foster parents based on needs of foster pet. Request and coordinate pick up or drop off of items. Pet Food Pantry and Pet Thrift Store oversight and management.

Miscellaneous needs at the Center: Everyday TLC like cleaning since cats awaiting placement are housed at the center. In addition, the FRAs Center needs clerical work like paper filing and thank you notes for donors. These tasks can be delegated within the team members.

Requirements: Good communication and organization skills, database management skills a plus.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in Rowlett and the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

Description

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to include a cat rescue program and support to the Garland Animal Shelter. With over 300 volunteers, we help both the Rowlett and Garland animals shelters maintain a live release rate above 90% to be considered No Kill. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events , sponsor heartworm treatments for all dogs in the shelter that test positive for heartworms, and so much more! FRAs has not only grown in our volunteer size, but we have grown to meet the needs of our community.
