We are looking for an Event Planner for our Communications team who will research future events that Project Lockdown might participate in and help plan and prepare for them. This role will be a good fit if:
- you have experience in event planning in the non-profit realm,
- you are or have been an active participant in events related to human and digital rights or public health,
- you are connected with groups or organizations that are regularly involved with events related to human and digital rights,
- you are excited about researching future events like conferences, seminars, and lectures that Project Lockdown could participate in, and enjoy the possibility of crafting similar events internally or in partnership with other organizations,
- you have excellent communication skills and are comfortable reaching out to and engaging with potential collaborators,
- you are interested in planning and organizing project events (floor management, logistics, marketing, audience engagement), and coordinating the logistics for events where the project may participate.
- you are interested in Project Lockdown and want to contribute to its goals!

Description
Project Lockdown (an initiative from The IO Foundation) is a civic tech, interactive platform providing an overview of the state of Human and Digital Rights around the globe. It evaluates policies obtained from high quality sources that may impact their observance. It provides, among other tools, a layered map interface that allows for a visual representation of the policies adopted, assisting a broad range of stakeholders in understanding the global state of their Rights empowering them to become active agents of global change.
The project is the result of the collaborative effort from a global network of partners and volunteers who are dedicating their time and resources to ensure that we do not degrade the Rights we currently enjoy while simultaneously preparing them to become a new generation of Rights defenders. It aims at providing an overview of the state Rights around the world to citizens and assisting journalists and civil society in their reporting and overseeing tasks.
