Cyber-Seniors is an intergenerational program that trains young people to be tech mentors for senior citizens. The ability to use online communication applications to stay connected is vital for older adults and other vulnerable people. Helping a senior learn to use transactional websites to order groceries, pharmaceuticals, food delivery, etc., makes an enormous difference in allowing them to remain self-sufficient from the safety of their home.
In the best of times, digital literacy can be life-altering; in times like these, it can be life-saving.

Mission Statement
Cyber-Seniors connects tech-savvy teens with senior citizens to help bridge the digital divide and improve quality of life. Teens teach. Seniors learn. Win-win.
Description
Cyber-Seniors started in Toronto as a high school project, and then turned into a successful documentary film which sparked our nonprofit organization. We work with students, ages 15 and up, who know their way around the Internet, email and social media, and train them to become mentors for senior citizens who want to learn how to better use computers, tablets and smart phones. The program offers students the opportunity to receive community service hours, teaching and leadership experience, internship leads, even public speaking and writing opportunities - and earn some gift cards as rewards! Truly interested students may even explore staying on in advanced leadership roles on our payroll as Teen Tech Leaders.
