Coach - NY Step Team (Ages 8 to 30)

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are looking for creative and patient coaches to join our fantastic coaching team in working with our girls' step team (girls ages 12 to 18) until June, 2021. We are also seeking coaches willing to join us for next season (August 2021 to June 2022). All coaches would start now, working virtually to plan for the next season of the team they desire to work with.

Coaches are needed for the following divisions -

  • Juniors (Girls Ages 8 to 12)
  • Seniors (Girls Ages 13 to 18)
  • Collegiate (Co-Ed Ages 19 to 30)
Our teams are working virtually at this time. Coaches who would like to hang out with us this season, will need to be available via Zoom on Saturdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. We expect to return to an in-person, outdoor practice on April 24th from 2pm to 4pm. Whenever we are permitted to resume indoor practices, we expect to return to the Pearl Studios in Midtown Manhattan (8th Avenue/35th Street).

STEP TEAM EXPERIENCE either on a church, community-based, school or fraternal step team IS REQUIRED. Coaching experience is not required. Interested candidates should respond letting us know about their step team experience and any burning questions that they have. Description

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.

Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
