Use your social media marketing skills to support addiction recovery and raise awareness among treatment providers about the healing power of exercise. We are looking for someone who can help guide our social media strategy, create posts for social media platforms, review metrics, and adjust the strategy as needed.
Strides in Recovery is a small and growing Southern California nonprofit which collaborates with addiction treatment providers who believe in a body-mind-soul approach to recovery. Through our goal-oriented group running/walking programs, we create experiences which improve self-confidence and self-esteem, create camaraderie, reduce stress and anxiety, elevate mood, teach self-discipline and perseverance, and more. Our participants experience the mental, emotional, and physical health benefits of training together toward a challenging goal. And, we help them translate these experiences into the life lessons and mindset needed for long term sobriety.
The first year post-treatment relapse rate is 40-60%. Our mission is to help bring those numbers way down. You can be part of making that happen.
Bringing the healing power of exercise to addiction recovery communities.
Training for an endurance event with the support of a team is a metaphor for recovery from substance use disorders and for life. Strides in Recovery brings this life changing experience to residential addiction treatment facilities, sober living homes, PHPs, IOPs, Alano Clubs, and others throughout the recovery community.
"I run with the team because it makes me feel like I'm part of something special. It taught me how to keep pushing forward and not give up." -Noah M.
"Training taught me to keep going and hold on even when I don't want to." -Jillian C.
"It was a great experience showing me that I could change in recovery. At first it was hard to go even a small distance. But, by the end of the training, I was much stronger and could go the distance. I can go the distance in recovery too." -Stan R
"Training for the half marathon showed me that this isn't going to be easy and that life isn't always going to be easy either. Sometimes you have to push through the tough times and stay on the right path. You'll eventually get to your destination." Amy P
