There are many wonderful educational, tutoring-based initiatives that already exist which are occurring around the world to help students learn. However, our nonprofit organization’s vision for supplementary education, Global Guru, is unique in that as a global tutoring organization, we aim to provide guided tutoring to students, completely free of cost, and track their knowledge retention through quantitative content mastery assignments as well as through qualitative surveys about their thoughts on their own academic growth in regards to Global Guru tutoring services. The tutoring sessions are live, as opposed to being pre-recorded, so students can directly interact with their tutor in order to quell any doubts that they may have while the material is being taught.

Mission Statement
Global Guru aims to provide free, online, live supplementary tutoring through online video conferencing software to all students around the world to help bridge the gap between students and access to quality educational services.
Description
Global Guru, as a nonprofit organization, has already begun to create a significant impact on the world; since our inception in June of 2019, we have grown from a team of 3 volunteers and 1 student to a current student base of 92 learners, and have 106 volunteers working with us including tutors, advisors, curriculum developers, project managers, and a director of operations. Global Guru tutors have cumulatively amassed 500+ teaching hours and our volunteers and students reside in a number of areas including Colombia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, India, Australia, Canada, 10+ states in the United States, and South Korea. Additionally, as a certifying organization to award the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, our U.S. volunteers are able to receive national recognition for their efforts in helping increase educational access. Our nonprofit organization started an Instagram account with no followers in March; we have since then experienced a tremendous amount of organic growth and have a loyal following of 1,076 followers on the platform. Lastly, we have also partnered with teachers in India to launch a pilot free tutoring program for students affected by COVID-19 who need extra help studying for 10th standard (or 10th grade) board exams, and have helped 35 children with this service in Orissa, India thus far.
