  • 8 people are interested

The Role:

We’re looking for a current student to work directly with our founder on a range of projects to run CoachMe’s program supporting low-income patients to build healthy behaviors. You’ll contribute to design, operations, product development - and have an impact while learning about startup social ventures and healthcare for the underserved.

About Us:

CoachMe is a startup nonprofit filling a critical gap in our healthcare system. We help low-income Americans turn a diagnosis of chronic disease into a chance for action. Our health coaches work remotely with patients on Medicaid to help them live longer, healthier lives. We’re scaling an evidence-based intervention, and on a weekly basis we learn from research and design and apply it to how we serve patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide SMS-based coaching directly to patients through our daily tracker
  • Create visual, attractive health education materials that support our coaches in building healthy behaviors
  • Manage our internal tools and set up new protocols to make these systems more efficient and effective for coaches and clients
  • Contribute to our weekly team meetings and fully own new initiatives in operations

What You Bring :

  • Currently enrolled in a competitive program related to business, healthcare management, or public health - Master’s preferred
  • Commitment to public health; experience working with low-income populations preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish, English) speakers preferred
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Action-oriented; you move quickly to make things happen
  • You have a drive to learn and are excited to teach yourself as you go

Benefits:

  • Get experience running operational projects and combining strategy with action
  • Receive mentorship directly from our founder and learn how to grow a fledgling social venture
  • Expand your network in the social enterprise, healthcare, and tech nonprofit space

Work Details:

  • Remote role, ideally based in Bay Area
  • Flexible hours - 5-15 hours per week

If you’re excited by this internship, please get in touch at getinvolved@coachmehealth.org . Please include a brief paragraph summary of what makes you excited to join us and a resume.
