Looking to visit with veterans while also keeping them comfortable? We are looking for 3 volunteers to support our infusion staff.
We are looking for the following attributes:
Attention to detail
Consistent, reliable volunteer hours
Friendly, mature, positive and service oriented
Good communication skills
Maintain confidentiality
Physical ability to withstand long periods of walking, sitting or standing
Understands the VA's mission and is mission driven
What will you be doing? Helping to keep our veterans comfortable while they receive the infusion treatments. This may include but may not be limited to providing them a warm blanket, snacks, coffee or other beverages or taking some time to just sit and visit. Some other responsibilities will include helping staff by cleaning the area just vacated by a veteran, setting up the linen rack with clean pillow cases, blankets and pillows, restocking the snack cart, collecting snacks from Food and Nutrition services, etc.

The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System is a Joint Commission-accredited facility serving Veterans in eastern Colorado and parts of Kansas. The VA Medical Center is located in Denver, Colorado and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics are located in: Alamosa, Aurora, Golden, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar, CO. There are Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinics in Burlington and Salida, CO, an ambulatory surgical center at the Air Force Academy, a Community Living Center in Pueblo (40 beds), and along with the Department of Defense and Veteran Benefit Administration, an Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) Center at Fort Carson, CO.
