Interested in learning more about horses, hunter/jumper disciplines, jump course setting, or just want to help out your local equine community?

We are looking for volunteers to help with horse show set up on Thursday, May 14th, and Sunday, May 16 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Volunteers will primarily be moving and setting horse jumps with direction. Additional activities include setting up show office, judge's booth, and more. No horse knowledge or skills necessary.

Show set up will be semi-physical. Must be able to stand for 1+ hours, bend, lift 10-20lbs.

COVID-19 precautions will be enforced (including but not limited to: social distancing, masks, temperature checks).

  • Thu May 13, 2021 - afternoon / 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM
    Our "shifts" are extremely flexible- these times are only a suggestion- volunteers are welcome to stay as long or as short as they want!
  • Fri May 14, 2021 - morning / 07:00 AM to 08:30 AM
    This shift will be finalizing courses and last minute details
  • Sun May 16, 2021 - afternoon / 01:45 PM to 04:45 PM
    This will be the first "breakdown" shift as the show is wrapping up.
  • Sun May 16, 2021 - evening / 05:00 PM to 06:45 PM
    Show wrap up/ break down.

The Boise Saddle and Jump Club's mission is to perpetuate the hunter/jumper discipline within Idaho and throughout the Intermountain West Region. Our Club serves our members by providing competitions, educational events, recognition and communication tools.

Description

Born from the Idaho Hunter Jumper Association, BSJC is your Treasure Valley based Hunter/Jumper resource. We are a membership-based, nonprofit organization providing education, horse shows and camaraderie to hunter/jumper equestrians.
New to the area or the riding discipline? Connect with local trainers, find upcoming events and meet fellow riders spanning all levels and abilities. Looking to grow your skills and plug into the many equine opportunities the area has to offer? Within BSJC, we promote horsemanship, education, community and a passion for the sport and our equine partners.

REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a one-time event volunteer opportunity the weekend of May 14-16. Looking for volunteers available the afternoon of Thursday, morning Friday, and/or afternoon/evening Sunday. Volunteers can stay the whole weekend or just one hour!
  • This volunteer opportunity is physical in nature: standing, lifting, moving objects up to 10/20 lbs. Must be able to work under direction. No previous horse or other knowledge necessary.
