Community Action  For  Improvement, Inc. is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1966. CAFI has provided services for over 25 years to low-income persons in the five-county service area, including Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Meriweather, and Troup counties. 

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families by providing services and resources that will facilitate the building of self-esteem and self-sufficiency through the active involvement of the total community.

Purpose & Impact of Position : CAFI is dedicated to assisting as many low-income individuals and families in our community as possible. We currently operate multiple programs dedicated to  these  households  and would love to document the program outcomes.  A volunteer photographer can help impact future funding and program decisions by providing photographs that showcase our lasting impact. 

Key Responsibilities: Photographer will attend events hosted by CAFI and  occasionally  visit CAFI worksites to showcase different  projects.  

Required Skills: Must have  your own  camera and necessary equipment. 

Preferred Skills: Previous experience photographing events is a plus.

Time Commitment: Willing to work with the volunteer's schedule.

Site/Supervisor: This volunteer will be supervised by the volunteer coordination specialist This position may require some travel to event sites but will be located centrally to LaGrange.

Benefits to volunteering: This position will benefit the volunteer by helping them become active participants in their own community and expand their personal and professional network.  Being a photographer for a nonprofit organization will build valuable experience and create a diverse portfolio.
