Because of COVID-19, our food bank's volunteer numbers have significantly dropped, while food insecurity dramatically increased. We need volunteers who are willing to help out at our food warehouse by packing food into boxes, organizing them onto pallets, and loading them up into families' cars.
Please be aware that some volunteer duties do require heavy lifting. If you cannot lift heavy objects, please still apply as there are plenty of positions available for those who are unable to carry heavy boxes.
All volunteers are required to wear a face mask and gloves while working in the warehouse. If you do not have these items, the warehouse will offer them to you once you arrive.
Examples of volunteer duties include:
Food Boxer 1: Responsible for packing food boxes
Food Boxer 2: Responsible for arranging boxes onto the pallet
Box Maker: Make boxes from unfolded cardboard
Food Stocker: Ensure the food assembly line is properly stocked
Box Breaker: Responsible for flattening used boxes
Meat Packer: Responsible for packing meat boxes
Car Loader: Responsible for loading clients' cars with food boxes
Client Contact: Responsible for taking clients' information for statistical purposes

- Orientation or Training
- Mondays & Tuesdays 8 am- 12 noon. You can choose how long and how often you'd like to volunteer! If you plan to volunteer more than 20 hours with us, you will have to fill out some paperwork so we can do a background check.
- Food boxer 2, food stocker, meatpacker, and car loader all require some form of heaving lifting. If you plan to fill these roles, please be aware that you'll be asked to lift boxes as heavy as 50 lbs.
