Do you have spare time to spend with our Aging Veterans and their families? Are you willing to use your time to Socialize with and Offer Companionship to our Hospice Patients that identify as veterans? Honor an Aging Veteran and become a Vet-to-Vet Hospice Volunteer!
We are looking for Military Service members and Military Veterans to volunteer by spend time with hospice patients. We are looking for volunteers that can...
- Share in conversation with one of our veteran patients or caregivers who hasn’t left their home in weeks.
- Providing camaraderie and companionship sitting with and listen to a fellow veteran.
- Sit with an aging veteran while their loved one goes to run errands.
- Call or write letters to veteran patients that feel secluding in nursing homes or assisted livings due to visit restrictions.
- Be there for a Veteran and their family as they go through the aging and hospice journey.
Volunteers are provided with training, team support, opportunities for continued education, volunteer appreciation events, PPE for home visits, and so much gratitude from patients and families it could fill a bucket!
