In America, we're wasting more than double the amount of food needed to feed every hungry person. Sharing Excess is a student run nonprofit that rescues excess food from restaurants and grocery stores and redistributes it back to the community. Started at Drexel University, Sharing Excess is now one of the most civically engaged student organizations in the city and the new home of West Philly's first ever food bank.

As we expand, we are looking for stellar volunteer food rescue drivers to help us deliver surplus food back to the community on a regular basis. Food Rescue Drivers assists with picking up food donations in the morning and dropping the donation off at local organizations within the city of Philadelphia!

Routes take roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on how many grocery store pick ups you are available to complete. PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NEED A PERSONAL VEHICLE FOR THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY.
