East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is a non-profit community development organization with over 40 years of experience in building healthy, vibrant and safe neighborhoods in Oakland and the East Bay. EBALDC develops affordable housing, commercial and mixed-use, mixed-income projects in Oakland and across other cities in the East Bay, including Emeryville, Richmond and The City of San Pablo.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the various food distribution programs at our Oakland residential properties. Our current openings are on Thursdays at 2PM at Lion Creek Crossings Phase Five (located at 6710 Lion Way, Oakland, CA 94621).

Volunteers will primarily be tasked with working with other volunteers and EBALDC staff members to unload food, organize and divide food into equitable piles for residents, and help deliver food to the resident units. All volunteers are required to practice physical distancing and bring and wear their own face coverings -- gloves will be provided. Because volunteers will be working with and for vulnerable populations, all volunteers will be required to be fingerprinted (at no charge to them).

If you are interested, please send an email to volunteer@ebaldc.org and indicate that you are interested in the COVID-19 Food Distribution volunteer opportunity. Our volunteer coordinator will communicate with you from there about your schedule and the various opportunities that we have available.

We look forward to working with you!
