We are looking for volunteers to assist at our 5th Annual Oyster and Fish Fry fundraising event at Field Manor on the lovely Indian River. The community of Indianola has joined once a year since the late 1890s to celebrate community. Opportunities include ticket table staff, event greeters, merchandise staff, silent auction staff, beverage station staff, buffet staff, museum docents, parking attendants, wine bar attendants and general event set up, clean up & break down. Duties can include but aren't limited too, greeting guests, assisting with questions, bussing tables, cash and credit card handling, assisting in museum tours, and assisting with parking cars.
Sandwiches and beverages for the volunteer staff will be provided by Field Manor.
The purpose of Field Manor Foundation is to educate Brevard County residents and visitors about the agricultural and social history of Field Manor, through its preservation and operation, educational programming, and museum collections.
Field Manor is the oldest house originally built on Merritt Island. The homestead dates to 1880-2, although the Field family landed much earlier, in 1868. Today, the home is open to the public as a historic house museum, serving as an educational resource for Brevard County, FL. We have 45 acres of citrus grove as well, plus 320 ft of continuous waterfront. Field Manor also serves as an event venue. We hope to provide insight into the social and agricultural history of central Florida by telling the Field story.
