FOOD: Food Donation Pick Up & Drop Off

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Auntie Helen?s Charity Thrift and Safe Space Services

Auntie Helen's needs an individual(s) to pick up food donations at the Trader Joe's in Pacific Beach at 9pm then drop them off at their thrift store in North Park where they refrigerate and prepare the items for distribution the next day.

The food that is picked up helps feed upwards of 400 individuals weekly with a week's worth of groceries in an effort to keep those with food insecurities and underlying health concerns safe. The food is bagged for case managers and social workers to pick up and deliver to individuals isolated in their homes. The remaining food is donated to Father Joe's Villages, helping feed thousands daily in their shelters.
