Position Summary

SiNaCa Studios - School of Glass and Gallery is a not for profit organization, dedicated to providing North Texas an opportunity to experience the rich tradition of glass as a creative medium through education, studio and community involvement. The Development and Advancement Director is essential to SiNaCa’s foundation. The main roll of the Development and Advancement Director is to provide oversight and implementation of fundraising strategies, events, annual campaigns and capital campaigns. This is done by establishing, fostering and maintaining relationships with all donors; foundations, corporations, and individuals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to prepare annual development budget that is appropriate, accurate and submitted on time
  • Compose and update "Thank You" correspondence letters that are creative and befit the specific event. Prepare and track operational and donor memberships, thank you letters and gifts
  • Create and submit grant proposals and campaigns, as needed that meet budget goals and are within strategic goals
  • Create letters and proposals to ensure a high quality, readable, consistent voice to donors and prospects
  • Develop relationships with and secure support from local foundation leaders, corporations, major donors and individuals. Maintain and grow the current donor base
  • Develop reports for grant and fundraising requirements, ensuring on track with deliverables and audits
  • Develop, administer, track and delegate responses for donor surveys
  • Maintain onsite and oversee digital donor recognition
  • Oversee and update all development related standard operating procedures
  • Oversee fundraising strategies, events and annual campaign. Ensure annual fundraising plan is balanced and consistent with the 5-year strategic plan
  • Prepare and conduct staff performance reviews and coaching sessions for foundation team. Participate in disciplinary and termination meetings and documentation
  • Prepare and present periodic fundraising and financial updates to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Responsible possession of a business credit card
  • Track and report on progress of relevant strategic plan goals

Key Capabilities & Qualifications

  • College degree required. Development background preferred
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new paths to efficiencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills with ability to multitask with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience in fundraising and comfortable making pitches in person and personally asking people for money
  • Positive and engaging attitude, self-motivated, persistent, persuasive and tenacious
  • Strong leadership, management, planning, teamwork and decision making skills
  • Strong sense of ethics and personal qualities of integrity and credibility

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ability to present budgets at Board Meetings
  • Ability to produce high quality, persuasive documents quickly and within deadline
  • Attendance at facility, philanthropic and fundraising events both on and off site
  • Maintain professional competence through in service education or in self-selected professional growth activities
  • Manage effectively within budget and report accurately on successes and challenges
  • Records are accurate, accessible and in accordance with the document retention policy

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Executive Director. The Grant & Campaign Coordinator and the Fundraising Event Coordinator report to this position.

Term of Service, Salary And Benefits

Expected weekly hours: 40-50. Starting Annual Salary: $ 42,000

Director positions qualify for health benefits after 6 months of employment.

Description

The vision of SiNaCa Studios School of Glass, a not-for profit corporation, is to grow our state of the art, environmentally responsible facility dedicated to educating a broad cross-section of the community in all forms of art glass studio techniques. Our classes and workshops are conducted by highly motivated and qualified faculty and visiting artists. We provide studio and equipment rental along with a public gallery, an intimate area showcasing local and regional artists that use glass as their medium of artistic expression. We continue to foster and grow our partnerships and relationships through collaborative programming with organizations like One Safe Place, Project Success, Fort Worth ISD, Beads of Courage, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
