Calling all social media experts and dog lovers! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County is an all volunteer run, no-kill, non-profit charity that is dedicated to finding loving homes for German Shepherds and German Shepherd wanna-be's in Southern California. Coastal GSR does an excellent job educating people about German Shepherd dogs, their energy levels, behavior and activity levels and we truly pride ourselves on finding the best fit forever home for all of our wonderful dogs.

Every year Coastal GSR participates in a fundraiser called Strut Your Mutt which is by far our biggest fundraiser of the year. This year, more than ever, due to the impacts of Covid-19 we need the funds generated by Strut Your Mutt so we can continue our good work. We are looking for a Social Media intern to head up specific Strut Your Mutt/Coastal German Shepherd Rescue Instagram and Facebook pages. As a volunteer intern working on this project, you would be creating interesting and engaging content for Instagram and Facebook to get viewers excited and motivated to participate in this very important fundraiser. This is a great opportunity to volunteer and help out during the Covid-19 pandemic, and to use your social media marketing skills for a great cause.

Mission Statement

Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds. Your tax deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal was formed to serve communities in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.

Coastal is dedicated to providing new beginnings for homeless German Shepherds who have been abandoned, neglected, abused, relinquished by their owners or just left at local shelters to await an uncertain future.

We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the Orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all volunteer, no-kill, non profit organization.

Our mission is to educate the public about German Shepherds, their lifespan, personality, activity level, along with overall responsible dog ownership. We also raise awareness of over population of animals through education, training, spaying and neutering. We work very hard to match each dog with the adoptive families.

Description

You can help!
We are in constant need of volunteers! Please help us make a difference in a German Shepherd's life. Here are some ways you can help the dogs:

Foster Homes
Can you help foster a dog back to health? Can you take a kennel weary dog for one weekend? Read more about fostering a dog.

Transporting Dogs
We need help in transporting dogs from shelters nearby and far flung, to vet appointments, to adoption events, and to foster homes.

Events
Join us at adoption events where we show dogs available for adoption. We need assistance at every event in setting up booths and tear downs, bake sale items, taking care of food and water for the dogs, holding dogs, and greeting people.

Due to insurance restrictions, volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age to handle the dogs. We encourage all others to volunteer with us, as we always need help with bakes sales, merchandise, and administrative duties. We have many opportunities for students to earn community service hours within our organization.

Fund Raising & Donations
You can help raise funds for our little orphans. You, your family, company, friends, officemates or church can help by raising funds or choosing a dog to sponsor.

Other types of donations:
All types of donations are needed and appreciated! We can always use large and extra large crates, stainless water & food bowls, Frontline and Advantage Flea medication, leashes and collars, dog beds, blankets, and anything else you think a dog would need. You might be surprised how important that old blanket might be to a sick dog.
