Melanoma Awareness Communication (Revised)

This one-time virtual project does not require phone calls, selling, or donation requests. It may be done anytime from any location.

Background

Melanoma is a common, serious skin cancer that is often fatal when not found and removed at an early stage. It can strike at any age from pre-teen to elderly.

The Melanoma Education Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2000, has a new video that educates the general public about early self-detection and prevention of melanoma, a disease that is curable by early self-detection followed by painless removal in a short office visit to a dermatologist. No follow-up chemo or radiation is required when melanoma is found early and removed.

Project Summary

This community service project involves watching our new 31 minute video and recommending it via individual email messages, Facebook and one or more additional social media platforms.

This is a one-time project for which 8 Community service hours will be awarded upon completing and submitting an Excel spreadsheet that we will provide in advance so you can decide if you are interested.

The first step is to watch our new video, "Early Self-Detection and Prevention of Melanoma," at the top of the page < https://www.skincheck.org >. After watching the video complete the Volunteer Match Form if you would like to receive detailed instructions and the Excel report sheet template to review prior to deciding whether to proceed.
