Hospice Patients can benefit from Pet Team visits in many ways, including reduced stress, anxiety, depression, and lower blood pressure. You and your pet's companionship and caring presence will brighten a patient's day towards the end of their life. Our patients love Pet Team visits!
If your dog is certified by ATG, TDI, or comparable certifying organization, has up-to-date immunization/health records and an hour or two a month to visit hospice patients in the DFW area, we want to talk to you about becoming a Pet Team for Brookdale Hospice!

If your dog is certified by ATG, TDI, or comparable certifying organization, has up-to-date immunization/health records and an hour or two a month to visit hospice patients in the Dallas/Fort Worth or surrounding cities, we want to talk to you about becoming a Pet Team for Brookdale Hospice!
The human half of our pet teams are required to become Certified Hospice Volunteers, which includes training, background check, and drug screening - all provided by Brookdale Hospice at no expense to the Volunteer.
To begin the process of becoming a Certified Hospice Volunteer and/or to learn more about our Pet Team Volunteer program, please contact the Brookdale Volunteer Coordinator at 682-277-8125 or send an email to: tchoate@brookdale.com.
We are currently not seeing patients in the Senior Living communities, but with agreement and using CDC guidelines, we can visit them if they are living at home.
So you are ready to go when the facilities open, we can arrange for you to complete the orientation and training on your schedule. Contact tchoate@brookdale.com to learn how you can make a difference!

Life is much more than physical health; it is also the dignity of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes increasingly important. Hospice care is a service that aids the transition between living and dying by providing respect, care, comfort, and support to patients and families.
Medical City Hospice and Family Care volunteers provide important support to the care of our patients and families.
HCA Healthcare is in 20 states and the United Kingdom and is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services. Our affiliate serving the DFW area is Medical City Hospice and Family Care.
