Angel Tree is The Salvation Army's Christmas assistance program, where thousands of children in need throughout Indianapolis are able to have their Christmas wishes fulfilled, thanks to generous members of the community. The first step of the Angel Tree journey is our intake process, where families come to our corps facilities to apply for Christmas assistance. Over the course of the week at both our Eagle Creek and Fountain Square Corps, volunteers will serve by greeting customers, taking client information, and walking families through the digital process of applying for the program.

We will have two shifts of volunteers each day, 8:30-11 and 11:30-2. We will be at the corps later on Mondays and have three shifts of volunteers: 8:30-12, 12:30-3, and 2:30-6.

In this process, The Salvation Army will be adhering to strict COVID-19 safety protocols, in an effort to keep our staff, volunteers, and clients safe. Volunteers must be 18 and older to volunteer for intake. Volunteers must be prepared to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to volunteering, as well as have basic computer skills to assist with the digital process.

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

Using both paid staff and volunteers, we repond to disasters locally, nationally and internationally. Moreover, we repond to individual plights within Indiana whether the circumstances involve domestic violence, substance abuse, at risk children, homelessness, joblessness and other situations where people need help and training. We have multiple programs and service-specific centers in and around Indiana. We have special events as fundraisers, donation collections and to increase awareness. "Need knows no season" so we are in constant pursuit of finding ways to make a difference and offer the gift of God's love.
