In 1910 Dr. Jennie Schofield and a group of volunteers founded the not-for-profit "Wheel Chair Home" for the elderly in Western New York. Today Schofield continues to provide quality health care services in our 120 bed skilled nursing facility on 5 beautifully landscaped acres in the Town of Tonawanda.
Schofield's volunteers are as varied as the individuals we serve. They offer help during weekdays, weekends or evenings at a mutually convenient time. There are many ways to share your time and talents including:wheelchair transport; friendly visitor; outdoor companion; gardener, reader/letter writer, escort to off premise outings; activities assistant; entertainer(musician, vocalist, dancer, artist, crafter, card player, etc.)or suggest your own outlet for social interaction.
