How do we support youth to become healthy, thriving adults?
...by showing up to support youth where they are at developmentally
...treating youth as partners in the development of ideas, opportunities, and policies that impact them
...creating meaningful opportunities to support positive youth development, strengthen youth skills, and reward youth for participating in those opportunities to grow.
As community members what does that look like?
-training: educating ourselves in understanding adolescent development and know that not every youth experiences the same milestones at the same time. Youth can be exposed to a variety of situations and possibly trauma that may impact where youth are at developmentally.
-advocate: sharing your voice as a community member, professional, or parent
-collaboration: share resources to support youth & share knowledge, work together as a community and as professionals to create an environment for ALL youth to thrive

Description
SATURN of Teller County consists of residents trained in the Communities That Care process to effectively prevent youth substance use and other problem behaviors impacting young people in our county. Through this evidence-based approach, we continue to educate our community and work alongside youth to ensure our community members are helping youth in ways that are developmentally appropriate and meet youth where they are at.
