This position is accountable for helping to reduce the trauma a survivor experiences from an attempted or completed sexual assault. The Advocate will provide emotional support and information to survivors, family members and friends. We give emotional support to the survivors to help them understand their choices and select the options that are best for them.

Our mission is to create social change within the Concho Valley by providing prevention, education, advocacy, and a safe place to foster healing for survivors of sexual violence and gender discrimination.

Description

Open Arms provides advocacy and support to victims of crime and their loved ones. The following services are offered free of charge: 24-Hour Crisis Hotline, Individual and Group Support, Counseling, Information/Referrals, Medical/Court Accompaniment, Technical Assistance and Follow-Up. We also provide education and prevention programs to the community as well as support and advocacy to the LGBT+ community.
