Purpose & Impact of Position:This is an opportunity to use your tech talents to help someone in the community develop professionally or personally.From adults seeking new job opportunities to the elderly looking to connect with others,help someone become comfortable with technology so they can be successful in post-secondary education and job seeking.
Key Responsibilities:Volunteer will host monthly workshops coaching community members on basic computer processes and technology. Based on community needs, workshops can range from topics such as Microsoft Offices to Skyping!
Required Skills:Applicants must be responsible as well as knowledgeable about basic computer processes. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal history background check and be a minimum of 21 years old.
Site/Supervisor: This volunteer will be supervised by the Volunteer Coordination Specialist. This position will be at our LaGrange headquarters but has the potential to expand to our other service centers. Due to COVID-19 concerns, classes may begin virtually.

Description
Community Action for Improvement is a Community Action Agency founded in 1966 that provides supportive services to low income families residing in Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Troup Counties. Through personalized case management, energy conservation education, employment readiness programs and youth empowerment services- CAFI provides services at over 5 service center locations throughout the state of Georgia.

- Coaches must be willing to make a six-month commitment to the program. This includes monthly workshops which can last an average of 45 minutes.
- All regular volunteers and those that come in contact with our clients are required to pay for and undergo a background check through their local sheriff's department. This is to ensure our safe working environment.
