Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, the Walnut Creek Farmers’ Market, managed by Contra Costa Certified Farmers’ Markets (CCCFM), needs help with social distance monitoring.
There is a morning shift from 9-11 or an early afternoon shift from 11-1. Volunteers do not work more than two hours.
Volunteers will wear orange/yellow vests provided by CCCFM. Volunteers will be asked to walk the market keeping 6’ of distance at all times possible from themselves, staff, vendors and the public.
Volunteers are needed to observe customers, give reminders to keep social distance and advise the Manager of any clusters/lines forming which require attention. This may include:
-Marking Xs 6 ft. apart on the ground in chalk anywhere lines form
-Verbally enforcing social distance requirements inside the market
-Informing the Market Manager of unsafe situations requiring immediate attention

Mission Statement
The mission of Contra Costa Certified Farmer’s Markets is to support the development of local sustainable farming by cultivating vibrant farmer’s markets. Our markets serve as community gathering places; celebrating local farmers, food producers and artisans. Fresh picked produce is made accessible with events and educational outreach to enhance and promote the quality of a healthy lifestyle and conscientious food choices. *Due to the current Covid-19 crisis our market is acting not as a gathering space but rather an essential food hub supporting our vial local food system.
Description
Contra Costa Certified Farmers Markets were established in 1982, to provide farmers’ markets in the communities of Walnut Creek and Orinda. We are a 501(c)5 not for profit organization.
CCCFM continues to embrace its original vision of supporting small family farms and educating people about the benefits of eating healthy food. We have enjoyed the many years of serving the community and watching the farmer’s markets grow. We encourage everyone to continue to support local farmers, food producers and the markets we operate.
