*This is a year-long, full time AmeriCorps VISTA position*
Work with a small but determined community development corporation to help create an equitable, sustainable neighborhood with a high quality of life. Support increased awareness of the organization and its programs. Grow membership in the organization. Develop content and posts for HOPE Village Revitalization's web page, social media page, e-mail blasts and text campaigns. Coordinate occasional volunteer projects in community gardens or elsewhere.
Member Duties : -Grow the reach and engagement of HOPE Village Revitalization’s web and social media pages through developing dynamic content. -Grow the number of registered members of HVR. -Expand the number of neighborhood residents and businesses who are connected with HVR and know about its work; grow HVR's volunteer base. -Develop systems for crowd sourcing among HVR staff and board members for photos and content for social media posts. -Develop protocols for volunteer projects and for expanding HVR's volunteer base.

Description
Focus: HOPE is a human service organization. Founded in 1968 in the wake of the 1967 Detroit riots by Father Willam T. Cunningham (1930-1997) and co-founder Eleanor M. Josaitis (1931-2011), Focus: HOPE unites a multicultural community in common efforts to overcome injustice and build racial harmony. Over the years, Focus: HOPE has initiated practical solutions to the problems of hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness. Answers can be found in Focus: HOPE's technology training programs, educational and corporate partnerships, and food programs.
