Red Cross Hurricane Laura Response
Hurricane Laura made landfall and devastated our neighbors in the Gulf area and even affected our inland areas. Over 800 Red Cross disaster volunteers were present virtually and in person to support relief efforts. As disasters are colliding in a pandemic it is in these moments, more than ever, we see the need for the power of volunteerism in our own backyards.
Right here in Indiana, there are 2-4 home fires which occur daily. Volunteers are needed to provide comfort and meet disaster caused needs. Bring your passion and become a volunteer to turn tragedy into hope after a disaster.
Disaster Responder can be anyone who is 18 years or older, is able to complete online training, and monthly signs up for two shifts on a response schedule.
