Mint Artists Guild is working on a series of Art Walks in Detroit, as a way to highlight the art, murals and creative businesses in the city and to raise money for our small nonprofit. Our first one will be along Livernois in October. The second will take place in another Detroit neighborhood. We're considering Ferndale as well.

We are seeking one or two engaged, connected volunteers to help us create a beautiful, successful walk, with VIP perks and social distancing and more. Fundraising or event experience welcome, but not required. More important is a good network and a desire to help Mint grow!

You will help sell the Art Walk tickets, and may bring in a sponsor or two. Or you may recruit a surprise guest to delight walkers, or land a coffee cart to give free hot drinks to all the walkers. Help with other details planning and running these walks.

Ideally if you like us, we hope you will stay involved through the spring walk. Of course, we are flexible.

These walks partially will take the place this year of our Mint Masterpieces fundraiser because it's safer to be outdoors during the pandemic.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
