The Indo-American Center will be registering community memebers to vote for the upcoming 2020 General Elections and provide information on issue up for the ballot. And making sure voting is accessible and safe for people during the pandemic. We will be working primarily in West Ridge, Rogers Park, Skokie, Morton Grove, and Niles. There are remote and onsite(adhering to CDC guidelines) opportunities available.
Some of the opportunities we have available are:
Canvasser (Phonebanking/Textbanking)-
Lead phone outreach to community member lists to help people have register to vote, learn about the key issues on the ballot, and apply to vote by mail.
Community Stories Member-
Collect stories from the community of voting and civic engagement and share them on social media.
Language Access-
Translating materials/scripts for inclusive community outreach and social media (Hindi, Bangla, Urdu, Gujarati, Tamil, Arabic, Spanish, and more.)

Mission Statement
The mission of the Indo-American Center is to promote the well being of South Asian immigrants through services that facilitate their adjustment, integration and friendship with a wider society, nurture their sense of community, and foster appreciation for their heritage and culture.
Description
The Indo-American Center serves over 5,000 clients each year from over 35 countries and makes over 30,000 community contacts annually. IAC offers a variety of programs and services including: adult English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, civic engagement and community organizing, health education, public benefits connection, immigration legal services, a monthly pro-bono legal clinic, citizenship classes, community navigators program, and senior citizen workshops.
