American Red Cross-Indiana Region

Did you know? 190 times a day, American Red Cross volunteers help a family that has lost everything in a disaster. Right here in Indiana, there are 2-3 home fires daily. Other disasters can also occur at any time and at any place affecting our communities.

As a Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteer, you’ll provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information and referrals to help families begin the process of recovery. Bring your passion to help other people when needed the most.

DAT volunteers receive online training and are on-call for a minimum of 2 shifts per month,( shifts being from 7am-7pm or 7pm - 7am). We strongly encourage for more shift sign ups to ensure coverage, strong engagement, and to overall gain valuable learning experiences.
