During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Quick Overview: We are looking for an expert on operations to help us as we transition.
Organization Name: Novelly
Organization Website: www.novelly.org
Mission: Novelly is an ed-tech nonprofit creating youth-driven spaces, both online and offline, for courageous conversations. We are combining the power of mobile app technology and stories to empower youth to speak about issues in ways that are uplifting and energizing, rather than polarizing and hostile. And our movement is only growing. From Clearwater, Florida, to McAllen, Texas to Toronto, Canada, Novelly teenagers are starting courageous conversations about everything from climate change to immigration reform to Black Lives Matter.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Novelly is undergoing a period of transition from being a small team of volunteers and contractors to being a large team of full-time staff and more volunteers. We’re experiencing growing pains (good problems during such uncertain times!) and we’d love some support. We need a volunteer who will:
Support our CEO in building an evaluation process for staff and CEO
Write non-discrimination and personnel policies
Write job descriptions for all staff
Support our CEO in building an organizational culture handbook
Requirements:
Experience with non-profit operations
Experience with startups
Passion for the civic education of youth
Perks: As a sign of our appreciation and as a welcome to the Novelly family, all professional and college volunteers receive Novelly swag and a free ticket to one of our virtual events.
