Food Bank News is publishing a list of the Top 100 Food Banks and the programs they are running to solve hunger. We need someone to help us verify the information we have collected.
The project would involve reaching out via email to the public relations representatives at approx. 100 food banks to confirm the data we have collected about the various programs they run. The volunteer would track responses and update the spreadsheet of collected data as necessary.
Food banks are essential to the health and well-being of millions of people, as has become especially apparent during the pandemic. We are building a database of the Top 100 food banks and the programs they run as a way of fostering greater understanding of how the charitable food system is working to help to end hunger. By collecting and publishing this information, we hope that food banks will learn from each other about the best ways to address this pressing problem.
Working from food bank websites, we have already collected data about the programs running at the top 100 food banks. In accordance with good editorial practices, we are seeking to give each food bank the opportunity to confirm the data. Once the data has been verified and updated, we will be publishing it on the Food Bank News website. We are anticipating a publication date of early November. Researchers will get byline credit for their work!More opportunities with Food Bank News

About Food Bank News
Location:

Mission Statement
Food Bank News seeks to end hunger by promoting conversation and information exchange about best practices in hunger relief via a nationwide publication.
Description
Food Bank News started when Founder and Editor Chris Costanzo began volunteering at her local food pantry and realized no publication existed to serve the interests of people working to end hunger in this country. Food Bank News is the first and only publication to acknowledge the critical role that food banks and related agencies play in the wellness and livelihood of millions of people living in the United States. We believe that hunger can and should be eliminated, and that better flow of information, ideas and best practices between members of the hunger-relief community will help reach that goal.
