We Welcome Your Heart of Service!

Are you called into the helping profession?
Are you self-reflective and curious?
Do you want to give back and support vulnerable communities?

You may make a great candidate for a Care Line phone counselor!

San Francisco Night Ministry's phone line known as the "Care Line" provides non-judgmental, compassionate listening on any topic, crisis counseling, and spiritual care every day from 8pm to 2am PST. SFNM's Care Line Counselors, or CLCs, come from many faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds and help people make meaning for themselves in line with their own understanding of reality. Though SFNM is based in San Francisco, CLCs volunteer from home and they can be located almost anywhere in the world and form a community of supportive caregivers, even as we care for others.

San Francisco Night Ministry is currently accepting applications for our next cohort. Training is about 20 hours of education and clinical supervision. After training is complete it is expected that volunteers will serve 3 shifts a month. Each shift is about 3 hours long and runs from either 8PM - 11PM PST or 11PM - 2AM PST.
