BOO Bash! TRUNK OR TREAT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: It's a Sensory World!

Boo Bash is a sensory-friendly event geared to provide children with special needs and their families a fun successful experience with Trick or Treating via a walkthrough of trunks set up at our space at It's a Sensory World!

With the uncertainty and every changing guidelines put in place by the CDC we have decided to only have a trunk or treat this year. We want to FILL our parking lot with fun and decorated trunks so our kids can still celebrate! We will offer fun prizes for the best trunks!

By committing to volunteer and participate in this event you are helping give children and their families a safe and functional way to celebrate and practice the concept to help make actual trick or treating on Halloween a familiar experience.

This is our 6th annual event that is fun for the whole family. Boo Bash is a special time for children and their famlies to come enjoy a safe place to "trunk" or treat, play carnival games, AND participate in a costume contest! We hope to see you there!

Description

Who Are We?

It’s a Sensory World! is a center that offers a variety of multi-sensory educational, recreational, and therapeutic services for children with special needs and their families. Our unique programs bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream education and recreation.

Why Are We Different?

  • When we first opened in October 2007, we were the only center offering services supplemental to therapy in North Texas and one of only two in the country. We are the only center where parent empowerment is a central part of our mission.

  • We are the only center in North Texas that offers these unique bridge programs all in one center.

  • We have a large therapeutic gym which is typically only found in a therapy setting. Our gym is unique because it is open to the public, and we use it to provide the students enrolled in our many programs with the intense sensory input they need.

  • We have a unique, child-centered approach which blends multiple disciplines, including speech and language, sensory integration, behavior modification and special education.
