Helping Palestinian villagers build their homes

Rebuilding Alliance is partnered with a local NGO in Palestine to feed 600 families in need with hot meals every week. We have fed 2400 families so far with fresh meals delivered to their homes. Be part of a team to make sure that this program continues.
More information about the food program here: globalgiving.org/projects/mrs-najahs-kitchen

With both COVID and the blockade, the need for Mrs. Najah's Kitchen: Gaza Emergency Meals is immense. To continue feeding families, the project needs regular fundraising and outreach. We are seeking passionate volunteers to form a team that meets at least once a week to guide the growth and success of Mrs. Najah's Kitchen.

You might be a good fit if you:
  • care about Palestinians, human rights, and/or the Middle East
  • love working with others towards a meaningful goal
  • are unafraid to ask questions
  • take initiative in seeking out new opportunities for Mrs. Najah's Kitchen
  • love reaching out to your community for a great cause
  • are savvy at social media and marketing
  • would enjoy connecting with our NGO partners in Palestine
Hear what Gaza families who have received hot, fresh meals from Mrs. Najah's Kitchen are saying:

"The meal came at a time when we have nothing at home, not even bread. My wife and children were so happy and blessed to eat the delicious hot meal!"

"The food is made from the heart, and the smell is so good. It's even better than our homemade food."

"Allah never forgets anyone. I sent my wife and children to her family's house to eat because I couldn't afford to feed them on Friday, but when I received the hot meal I took it to where my family was, and we ate together."

To apply for this position, please reply and provide a cover letter, your resume, and three references.

About Rebuilding Alliance

Location:

50 Woodside Plaza Ste. 627, Redwood City, CA 94061, US

Mission Statement

Rebuilding Alliance is dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.

Description

We learned early-on that to build in war-torn communities one must partner locally with non-governmental organizations that hold the trust of the local community and maintain the highest standards of fiscal and personal integrity.

Everyone who works at Rebuilding Alliance is committed to building peace and justice through programs that make a tangible difference and together, we do our best to make RA a great place to work. Many who have joined RA as interns or in entry-level jobs have gone on to their dream-job or pursued advanced degrees.

One of our past interns wrote the following:

"I always talk about interning with Rebuilding Alliance as one of my most important, challenging and formative work experiences, especially when I'm in interviews. You asked and expected big things of me right away, and I'm so grateful for that - coordinating a teleconference series, making phone calls to important peacekeepers, offering insights in team meetings, updating our internet presence. These are skills that I value so highly, and that I'm sure will be so important as I enter this industry that is entirely new to me. I would also like to stay in touch with you and Rebuilding Alliance and help in any way I can in the coming years, whether through donations or volunteering my time when I'm back in the Bay Area."
