FISH of Vancouver is seeking volunteers for all positions and shifts at our food pantry!
Because of the pandemic, more of our neighbors are at greater risk of going hungry than ever before and we need all hands on deck to make sure that everyone who needs it can access fresh, healthy food.
Volunteers help pack mixed produce, dairy or meats into bags throughout the day as it comes in from donor businesses. If you like to play with food, this is the job for you! Packing involves checking expiration dates and food quality, standing, and some lifting. We are able to accommodate many different ability levels.
We are also seeking volunteers to help clients check-in at the computer and distribute food via our contact-free system in as dignified and respectful manner as possible.
We have volunteer opportunities Monday thru Friday on both the 9-12 shift and the 12-3 shift as well as flexible hour options to accommodate other schedules.
If this sounds fun, please reach out to aninae@fishvancouver.org or our volunteer hotline at (360)566-3243.
FISH currently suggests that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing. We are open to volunteers age 6-80 (adult supervision is required for those under 16), but do ask that volunteers who are high-risk refrain from joining us at this time.
We are unable to offer community service hours that are a requirement for a legal offense or fine.

Description
FISH of Vancouver is a client-centered food pantry committed to ending hunger in Clark County by ensuring that an abundance of healthy, culturally appropriate foods are accessible to all residents and given with dignity, respect and compassion.
FISH operates a grocery-style food pantry, which means our clients get to shop and browse just like they would at a grocery store. We know that everyone has different needs, and the best way to meet those needs is to let everyone make their own choices about what foods work best. We also operate a snack window which serves cold lunches to individuals living outside and provides some basic necessities, like toiletries and bblankets.
