We are looking for a strong leader to drive HHC partnerships and community outreach in Southern California. You will build and lead a team that develops partnerships with local community leaders and organizations to use the Helping Hands platform to serve their vulnerable constituents, as well as specialists who grow our volunteer base through community outreach. On a day to day basis, you will manage the partner pipeline and support relationships with local organizations like food banks, healthcare, and other community groups. This role is absolutely critical to scaling our platform and reaching a larger population of those most vulnerable to Covid-19.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of volunteers that will identify, engage and activate partnerships that serve at-risk populations in Southern California.
  • Engage, Recruit, interview and onboard volunteers to continuously build Southern California team
  • Conduct periodic team meetings and frequent team check ins to provide support to the rest of your volunteer team. Problem solving by using established tools, resources and other HHC team members.
  • Connect with local community leaders, organizations, businesses, and government to amplify Helping Hands Community reach. (Some examples of our current partners are American Lung Association, Uber, LA Dodgers Foundation, Hubert Humphrey Clinic)
  • Attend weekly meetings for HHC
  • Attend virtual meetings with potential or established partners to increase awareness of HHC and find pathways to use HHC's tech-enabled platform to serve the vulnerable population
  • Collaborate with the Partner Success team to ensure partners are onboarded and ready for through their journey with Helping Hands Community
  • Partner with User Success to improve service completion and surface feedback to improve the product.
  • Solve our local user’s needs through creativity, connections, and grit.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial leader and go-getter that can bring empathy and operational rigor to engaging the community to help those who are most vulnerable to Covid-19 in Southern California
  • 2-4 years experience managing a team in sales, account management, community outreach, or partnerships
  • Ability to commit up to 15 hours/week for the next 2-3 months
  • Comfortable with technology platforms such as Slack, Google Drive, Zoom and CRM programs (such as Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.)
  • Weekday availability (M-F 9-5) required

Commitment To The Team:

Helping Hands Community is a team of volunteers that have mobilized to help slow the spread of Covid-19. The majority of volunteers are devoting time outside of their other job to support Helping Hands Community. The demands for a leadership role like this requires someone who can devote up to 15 hours / week to this job. Because the team is dispersed across the country and due to the unique hours individuals are working, frequent use of communication channels like Slack and email are critical to ensure no one is bottlenecking decisions or tasks.

We're a nonprofit organization, founded by veterans of Uber, Facebook, and Google during the COVID-19 pandemic. After one year of operations, we're proud to report that the Helping Hands platform has partnered with 20+ organizations to deliver food to more than 60,000 U.S. households.

To grow and extend our impact far beyond the pandemic, we received a $250,000 seed investment from Pivotal Ventures, an innovation and incubation company created by Melinda Gates to advance social progress. At Helping Hands Community (HHC), we're building technology to empower the organizations that serve our communities.
