Kent County Community Action collaborates with several partners throughout Kent County to distribute United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) food to eligible households on a quarterly basis.
Our packing day event is about 4 hours and we hope to pack all boxes needed on distribution day. We may need additional help morning of to pack the remainder of boxes.
Our one-day distribution will include providing eligible households with a box of food from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Volunteers will be needed to help collect client information, pack boxes, and distribute food to the public.

Teenagers 14+ are welcome to volunteer if an adult guardian goes with them.

On Packing day, we are looking for about 10-20 volunteers for each shift: Full 12 pm - 4 p; Shift 12 pm - 2 pm; Shift 2 pm - 4 pm

On Distribution Day, we are looking for about 15-20 volunteers for each shift: Full 8am-7pm; Shift 8am - 10am; 10am- 12:30pm; Shift 12:30pm- 3pm; Shift 3pm - 5:30pm; Shift 5:30pm- 7pm

    This shift is to primarily prep for the distribution, pack any additional dry boxes and frozen items. May end at 12 PM for volunteer lunch.

    Distribution prep. and start. Volunteers who are staying several hours may start at 1 PM.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2024 - 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM
    Distribution. We may end this shift earlier depending on how many boxes are distributed. Clean Up may be apart of this shift.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2024 - evening / 04:30 PM to 06:30 PM
    Depending on how much food is left and what clean-up looks like you may be complete your shift early. We may also cancel this shift as well.
