COVID-19 Help: On-Call Volunteer Sr. Nutrition Center
The Salvation Army - San Jose, CA
On-Call Volunteers are needed to help in Sr. Nutrition Center w/check-in (scan cards or write names of Seniors) & distribute to-go meals in case there is shortage of help, weekdays, 12noon-1pm.
Volunteers will be instructed on how to use scanner and other procedures in anticipation of "emergency" type situation. While we don't know when an "emergency" situation takes place, we need to know that we have a small group of volunteers already trained and able to help if available.
If On-Call Volunteers help during COVID-19, all social distancing, wearing of face masks, sneezing/coughing etiquette must be followed.
Many Seniors are on fixed income and they must continue to receive free nutritious meals to stay healthy & well. On-Call Volunteers are needed to ensure the program continues with or without staff.
Age Requirements: 18-59 (ages will return to include High School and Adults over 59 when safe to do so).
