The Starfish Foundation, Ecuador

We are looking for a Grants Coordinator to join our team to assist with grant applications throughout the year! You would work on grants that can be completed virtually in support of Starfish. This position requires independence, excellent writing and communication skills, adaptability to a high-feedback environment, and a desire to help grow our development initiatives. Prior knowledge of Starfish a plus. Some research is already done, so the first, immediate project would be to identify which grants have upcoming deadlines that we can apply to, establish relationships with granting organizations, compile a folder of resources that the grants require, and draft grant applications to be reviewed by the Development Manager. A Grants Coordinator will be a great addition to our team to grow our fundraising presence.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Development Manager to identify opportunities and establish a yearly project plan

Collaborate with the Development Manager to establish goals and delegate projects as they arise

Work with communications, design, and content writing volunteers to complete related tasks

Potential responsibility: Recruit other volunteers as needed

Communicate progress to supervisor

SKILLS NEEDED:

Ability to work independently, as well as part of the team

Excellent writing skills

Ability to take initiative, and to meet deadlines

Enthusiasm for our mission

Development and/or fundraising experience a plus

WORKING HOURS: We anticipate an average of 2-3 hours per week throughout the year. More hours are available if requested. The volunteer may manage these hours as fits in their schedule (no prescribed hours to be online/available). We will also schedule occasional meetings a few times per year via video chat with the entire team to coordinate projects and initiatives.
