2020 has proved to be a challenging year for us all. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we at 360 Eats are continuing to work alongside local businesses, fellow organizations, and our communities to reduce food waste and provide nutritious and wholesome meals for those who now more than ever are least able to afford to feed themselves.

360 Eats is a newly formed 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2020 that is based out of Tampa Bay, FL. Our mission is to create a just and sustainable food system free from hunger and food waste. 30-40% of quality food produced in the United States goes to waste each year and yet still 1 in every 8 American Citizens is considered food-insecure. 360 Eats provides a "360-degree" mobile food service with an innovative solution aimed at bridging the gaps between food waste, food insecurity, and sustainability.

How It Works
Saving Food:
The Saving Food program rescues good food from going to waste by collecting excess food from businesses, fellow organizations, and individuals by our mobile Food Rescue team and volunteers.
Serving Food:
Our Serving Food program gives surplus food new life in the form of nutritious and gourmet meals for those less fortunate. We work in partnership with a licensed commissary kitchen and volunteer professional chefs to prepare meals and then distribute the meals directly to those in need.
Sprouting Food:
The Sprouting Food program ensures that donated food is used to its full potential by turning food scraps into compost to grow more food throughout affected communities. Partnerships with local farms and composting initiatives as well as apps such as Make Soil allow us to fulfill our goal of a zero-waste system.

In just our first month of operation, we were able to rescue over 3,000lbs of good food and serve over 2,300 meals to those in need. We are looking to vastly grow these numbers by the end of the year and are seeking a volunteer Grant Writer to help us achieve the funding we need to grow.

The Grant Writer is a virtual non-paid volunteer position that works directly with the Board of Directors. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing and coordinating the grant application process; management of proposals for the Organization in pursuit of fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents
  • Responsible for researching, collecting data, and writing of each grant
  • Coordinates with the Treasurer to gather financial information necessary to report to grant-giving organizations
  • Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials
  • Maintain current records in excel to track and report grants
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals and grant status for developing a successful grant request
