ARTportunity Knocks is a non-profit organization catering to the education and development of youth in the areas of STEM Education and the Arts. Through our After-school and Summer Camp programs, we offer non-traditional enrichment learning (including robotics, culinary arts, music engineering, etc.) to students as young as K-12--satisfying their hunger for both knowledge AND healthy meals and snacks. Due to the strain and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have learned to pivot to reach our students in a way that continues to meet their educational and nutritional needs. As such, we are gearing up for another productive season of nutritious meals for our students this semester. As we plan and prepare to keep our Food Program strong and sustainable, we are in need of dependable, qualified volunteers to join our Food Program Team to execute our Meal Delivery Initiative. If you, or another referral, are interested in learning about this VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY to prep, package, and help deliver meals to our students in the Greater Atlanta area, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator immediately to get more details. This initiative is ACTIVELY RUNNING, so email or call us quickly! **Volunteers are NOT responsible for driving the delivery van, only riding along to assist with loading/unloading duties** Cargo Vans and Insurance provided via Artportunity Knocks, Inc.

Mission Statement
Artportunity Knocks mission is to empower youth to make positive and smart choices while increasing opportunities in the Arts, Education, Community Service and Bridging Cultures. The organization was established in the Metro Atlanta area in 2007 with a focus on providing stem and arts education that's culturally diverse and accessible to all youth in K-12th grades throughout the state of Georgia.
Description
The organization provides a nurturing and safe environment that fosters learning and creativity during the school year and summer months. Our primary demographic target ages 6-18, with an emphasis on the "tween" age groups (9-13). Our programs currently support students located within the Metropolitan region of Atlanta, Georgia with a reach that expands to over 10,000 students.
Among the specific activities provided at our site are:
- Homework Assistance/Tutoring
- Nutritious Snacks
- Performing Arts Classes: Dance, Theater, Rap/Poetry/Spoken Word
- Music Classes: Instrumentation, Theory, Voice
- Fine Arts Classes: Culinary Arts, Painting, Photography, Fashion Design, Animation
- Technical Arts Classes: Music Production & Engineering, Filmmaking, Computer Animation
- Coding, Robotics, Technology, Engineering, Esports & Gaming
- Physical Recreation: Fitness, Sports, Martial Arts
- Mentorship
We also host positive concerts in hopes of giving not only Artportunity Knocks students, but other up and coming artists an opportunity to perform live.
