Are you a Veteran? Veteran volunteers can assist Hosparus Health patients by visiting with patients and providing practical and emotional support to patients and families when they need it most. As a Veteran volunteer, you may provide the last opportunity for Veterans to feel that their service was not in vain and that they are appreciated. Veteran Volunteers get to engage, honor, and recognize the Veterans we serve. Also, as a Veteran, you may have been through similar situations, providing a way to relate and discuss events that may be very beneficial to those at end of life.
Veteran volunteers for Hosparus Health perform a Veteran Recognition ceremony with the patient and family by presenting them with a Veteran recognition certificate along with a token of appreciation such as a hat, pin, or care blanket.
Volunteers are needed in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, and Warren county. Volunteers may travel to multiple counties if comfortable doing so. Volunteers may visit patients in private residences, assisted living, or long term care facilities.
All volunteers must have the COVID-19 vaccine and be 18+ years old.
