Elderday Center is in need of someone that would like to lead a craft once or twice a month.

Elderday Center is a therapeutic adult day center specializing in memory care to enhance quality of life, cognition, socialization, and overall wellness.

As a part of our program, art has many therapeutic elements. It is an exercise in mobility and understanding direction, a form of creative expression, and a mode of communication when our words start to fail us. We are looking for someone with a compassionate heart that would be willing to come in and lead a half hour craft in the morning on either Tuesdays or Thursdays. We can provide the craft or you can find one yourself. All craft supplies will be provided by Elderday Center.

Send our Activity Director an email to get started volunteering with us! She will conduct a quick interview, go over some forms with you, and review all pandemic procedures. We hope to hear from you soon!

Mission Statement

Elderday Center is committed to providing quality day services and promoting independence for older adults and providing support and education for their caregivers.

Description

Since we opened our doors in 1990, Elderday Center offers a comprehensive adult day program of socialization, recreation and health maintenance that reinforces each participant's self-worth and dignity while enhansing current skills and abilitites.

For over 20 years, Elderday Center has been providing day services for adults age 55 and better. Our team carefully researches and plans our services to better meet the needs of those who attend. Each activity has a therapeutic reason behind it and the simplest task can work on memory, cognition, fine or gross motor skill, alleviate depression or anxiety and improve self-worth.

Together these aspects help participants to improve their quality of life, maintain or slow health deterioration often associated with aging and keep participants as independent as possible. Days are spent socializing, laughing, sharing stories and smiling. When you’re at Elderday Center - you’re with family.
