Mission Statement

Breakthrough AIDS Foundation is a not for profit organisation based in Uganda, East Africa, that provides medical care and support to individuals living with and affected by HIV. Our work involves working within the local communities of the hard to reach areas of Fort Portal, providing those affected with access to medical care.

Description

We operate in Uganda, East Africa in the rural areas of a Fort Portal, a district 70 km from the boarder with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Fort Portal was hit by the HIV epidemic in the 1980's and was one of the most severely affected areas in Uganda.

Although there have been various interventions in the past 30 years, HIV is still very much a challenge in the district, with new cases every day.

Medical care comes at a cost in Uganda, with many familes unable to afford basic treatment they so desperately need.

Our work involves working within the local communities of the hard to reach areas of Fort Portal, providing those affected with access to free medical care.

We have a dedicated team of medical professionals, doctors, nurses and midwives working within the communities to provide the best medical care and support possible.
