IT'S ABOUT LIVING

Volunteers at Valor HospiceCare make a huge difference in the lives of hospice patients and their families by providing companionship and respite care.

Some activities volunteers provide at a visit could include:

  • reading to the patient
  • playing a board or card game
  • helping with light household chores
  • picking up and delivering groceries
  • providing a smile and a compassionate ear

Regardless of what you do, volunteers contribute to our hospice team, and help patients and families cope with practical, emotional, and spiritual challenges at the end of life.

Being a hospice volunteer can be a deeply rewarding experience. Our volunteers gain satisfaction knowing they make a difference in the lives of others. And volunteering can provide many opportunities for growth and learning.

Volunteers receive training and PPE (masks, gloves, disinfectant, etc.) to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. And volunteers can remotely support families by delivering groceries and making phone calls to patients and their families.

Valor HospiceCare will do our best to match volunteers with patients living in your area.

Training is comprehensive and interesting, so volunteers are well-prepared to provide service and achieve their goals for volunteering.
