Do you like to sew or quilt? Are you self-motivated? Are you able to work independently?
The special projects volunteer is a member of the hospice team with a desire to support patients and families in the hospice program. Requests may be for pediatric or adult patients.
Example of projects include:
- * sewing or quilting lap robes for patients
- * sewing or quilting pediatric blankets for patients and their siblings
- * sewing and decorating veteran pillow cases
- * sewing catheter bag covers for patients using catheter bags
- * creating fidget blankets for anxious, dementia patients
We are also open to new ideas. So if you have one, we would love to hear it!

First Hospice program in Minnesota
HealthEast Hospice Care was the first Hospice program in Minnesota. We continue to be a leader within the Twin Cities community, proudly serving the six county metro area: Ramsey, Washington, Dakota, Hennepin and portions of Anoka and Chisago counties.
The word "hospice" dates back to a centuries-old tradition of preparing gifts for those about to set off on a long journey. Today, Hospice Care refers to an entire spectrum of services that focus on the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of individuals who choose to live as fully as possible at life's end.
The definition of hospice is a philosophy of health care that affirms life and provides care and support for people facing a life-limiting illness. To us, it goes even deeper. People who’ve experienced HealthEast Hospice Care tell us we treat them like family. We focus on the quality of life, not the duration.

Our care team works with the patient and the family, emphasizing emotional, spiritual and physical well-being. We offer help and support so you can focus on your loved one. We consider Hospice Care honorable and meaningful -- and we truly understand the level of comfort and compassion you need during such an emotional and difficult time.
